The first of four demanding par 3 holes. From the tee the entire
tee all the obstacles are clearly in view. The green is quite
large but players are often short of the putting surface on their
first shot. A well-played shot will provide a good birdie opportunity. A well designed starting hole. The new Championship tee provides an excellent view of the hole and the downhill tee shot must be well placed to avoid expansive bunkers on the left side of the fairways. The second shot is uphill to a well-bunkered green and demands an exact shot to ensure par. The green is a challenge in itself, with players aiming to make their putts from the right side of the hole. |
